Mary Jo received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelors of Art in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College with an emphasis in Art Education.

Mary Jo has extensive training working with infants, toddlers and school aged children, which gives her the opportunity to appreciate the complexities and uniqueness of each individual. Early in her career, Mary Jo trained in DIR/Floortime and has direct experience offering social and developmental needs support and skill-building to children on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing difficulties and other issues of neurodevelopment.

Mary Jo also has training in EMDR, which specializes in assisting those who have struggled with trauma/PTSD. As a former birth doula and lactation educator, Mary Jo is aware of the importance of those early relationships. She went on to receive training and holds a certificate in Maternal Mental Health. Mary Jo feels passionate about the relationship between parent and child and creating strong and healthy attachment from the beginning.

As a mother herself, Mary Jo understands the parenting journey and empowers parents to learn supportive skills to best help their children with family stressors, new changes, losses and developmental needs.
